Hey everyone my two amazing Welsh boys a.k.a Faltered are back for the third time but this time we had a little chat :)

What has been your highlight of being in the band so far?

Highlight...hmm probably recording our album sampler and getting a proper experience of a real studio, makes you feel "proper"! - Conor
I would have to agree with that.. Looking forward to getting the album finished - Daniel

What's been the hardest part of being in the band?
For me the hardest part of being in the band is not living with Dan anymore and working shite hours, it's difficult to write and share ideas when you're both in different places but it's just a temporary thing (hopefully) – Conor
Beat me to it again.. The hardest part is definitely trying to find the time to practice. It's not quite the samewriting parts separately, it's better to get together and do it - Daniel

Personally who inspired you?
For me it's bands like Biffy Clyro, Hundred Reasons & The Cooper Temple Clause that made me want to write songs. The 2 biggest influences on the way I play the guitar though are Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) and Matt Bellamy (Muse). I think that comes across in the overall sound of faltered - Daniel
Bands such as Silverchair, Fightstar and Biffy Clyro are my biggest inspirations in general. Specifically relating to my drum style though, I'd say Guy Davis from Reuben and Matt Tong from Bloc Party have been big inspirations. As for my singing style, it seems to be a mash up of all my favourite vocalists. - Conor

How would you describe your music?Interesting, exciting yet diverse. We're no one trick pony, we have a lot more up our sleeves. - Conor
Quite quirky at times but overall pretty damn catchy. We definitely know who and what we are, we like to mix things up a bit – Daniel

What has been the best gig you've been to?Muse at Wembley Stadium with Biffy supporting. Absolutely blew my fucking mind, no gig I've been to since has surpassed it and I don't think anything will! - Conor
Ah, Wembley, hell of a gig that. I think my best would be Foals in Wrexham, tiny place, right at the front, good times – Daniel

Now where did the band name come from?
Ask Dan. We used to have a different name but ask Dan. - Conor
Well I could go all deep and meaningful at this point but I'm simply going to say, it's just a nice word, easy to remember, doesn't work with 'the' in front of it, simple - Daniel

If you could have dinner with any musical legend who would it be and why?
Keith Moon from The Who. He'd have some stories to tell! - Conor
Probably David Bowie, he's lived quite a life - Daniel

Favourite Disney film? (we've all got one)
Nahh, not me.. Or maybe it's Tron - DanielThe Lion King. Has to be. - Conor

Piece of technology could you not live without?
My phone probably, far too used to using it for everything now! - Conor
Snap - Daniel

If you ruled the world what would you do?
I would ban use of the abbreviations, lol, tbh, yolo, cba, omg... the list is endless - Daniel
I'd make it compulsory for auto tune to never be used in any song ever. If you can't sing you can't sing, end of. - Conor

The first album you ever bought was?
Pretty sure it was Surrender by The Chemical Brothers - Daniel
Silent Alarm by Bloc Party – Conor

The most embarrassing album? (To make you feel better mine was High School musical)
I have "The Documentary" by The Game knocking about somewhere, but we don't talk about that. - Conor
Probably that South Park album that was released, it's just 100% awful - Daniel

What was the first song you wrote were you thought 'wow this is good'?
Probably PDTTTWW, it was the first song we ever wrote/played together and the first one we ever put any lyrics or vocals over, and after a bit of tweaking I loved the track. All credit to Dan on that one. - Conor
I totally agree and I'm taking all credit for it.. Nahh, it came together quickly through playing together. That song was definite realisation that we are on the same page when it comes to song writing - Daniel

What is your favourite lyric you've written and why?
Probably one from a new song I wrote called "Pulled Over". The lyric is "the wool you pulled over my heavy eyes, I'll make a blanket from to comfort me and keep my head from running wild". I think it's nice, my mum likes that one too. - Conor
Erm.. 'a place of terror fear and loss, with equal measures of kindness' Hospital reference - Daniel

You're stuck on a island, you're allowed 1 book, 1 album and 1 person (dead, alive, fictional) Who/what do you pick?
A Spawn graphic novel, because I'm just not that cultured. The album would be Infinity Land by Biffy Clyro and I would probably take that curly haired woman from Lost, she'd be good in a desert island situation - Daniel
I'd bring a book with lots of pages so I could burn it for warmth, I'd take Grand Unification by Fightstar with me and I'd take Steven Hawking. He'd get us off there. - Conor

Who's you're favourite band at the moment?
Arcane Roots, can not get enough of them at the moment - Daniel
Don Broco. Conor

When did you first start getting into music? Has it always been a big part of your life?
I only started playing music at 17 and singing at about 18, but I suppose I was "into" it at around 15. I didn't take music in school or anything, it was something I got into after all that, which was unusual but felt right! - Conor

I remember my Dad playing The Smiths & R.E.M a lot in the car when I was younger and I started learning the guitar at 13, so yeah, I suppose it has always been a big part of my life. It's always been around - Daniel

When it comes to writing what do you write first, music or lyrics? Music, usually guitars > drums > Bass > lyrics/melodies. Sometimes I'll have a melody in my head as I'm writing the guitar parts, but not always. Can always count on Conor though to come up with something good - Daniel

Music. Always the music! Then we'll splice together lyrics we have written already if it fits the song or we'll write an entirely new set of lyrics. If This Is A Joke was written after Dan named the track. - Conor

What would you do in a Zombie apocalypse?
Climb somewhere high with a fuck load of bricks, food and blunt objects! And a gun if one was available! - Conor
Well I would always stay in a group, never wander off on my own.. that's just gonna get you dead. Chainsaw, axe, a large knife, sorted – Daniel

Where to you want to be in ten years?
Preferably touring and working on our 15th album. - Conor
Yeah, still doing our thing hopefully, as long as people are listening we have plenty of songs left in us - Daniel

Have a listen to their new EP/Album teaser here: http://faltered.bandcamp.com/

Today we're back in America, Rhode Island to be exact! Suburban Downfall are a 4 piece Pop/Punk band. I first heard them through Twitter.
Their song I'll Take One For The Team: There's no intro we got straight into full blown guitars, drums and vocals. I enjoyed jumping about to the guitars than singing along to the lyrics as they're not the ones that make you want to sing your heart out to but rock along side them. I think this is one of those songs that great recorded but is even better live.
If I Kiss You: Intro is a catchy guitar riff and I already know I'm gonna love this song. And I'm right, the guitar riffs are catchy and upbeat (Is it odd that just the guitar riffs made me smile?) They also remind me of Blink 182. Vocals have more of 'I want to sing along' compared to the last song, everything works together for this song and I really like it.
Coulda Been: I love at the beginning the guitars start in one ear (If you have headphones on) and when the drums come in they come in the other ear blending them both together. The guitar riffs, drums and bass just make me want to get up and jump around and I have to say I was remind of Bentley Park not in a bad way of course. It's hard to pick a favourite song out of these 3 but I think it's gotta be this one, the vocals strong, guitars memorable, drums fast, bass upbeat what more could you ark for?
1 awesome band, 3 awesome songs I'm happy :D and can't wait to hear more from them soon.

Hey guys! We're in America today for 5 piece Pop Punk band Chasing Morgan. First heard this band through a friend.
Their EP Battlescars.
Life ATM: Fast guitar riffs starts when I already know will a energetic song that's going to make you want to dance. The vocals are good though they didn't make an huge expressen on me the first time but a after listening to the song a few time they've really grown on me. The vocals also do have a familiarity about them in fact Im reminded of Blink 182. The lyrics are catchy and I'm enjoying singing along!
Remembrance: The intro has something familiar about it and I cant help tapping my foot to it, I just love the whole song everything fits together so well, I can't fault this song at all! How can this band create so many songs I love?
Don't Tell Me Now: is even faster than the last song and the vocals come more out into there own. The fast paced drums and guitar riffs makes me want to jump up and down and the lyrics are catchy make me want to sing! Even though I haven't heard all of the EP yet this is definitely one of my favourite songs.
If Wonder Woman Had A Daughter (Loving the name btw) Another fast, catchy song, again I love the guitar riffs and catchy vocals! There's something about this bands fast, energetic style that makes it hard to stop listening.
Runaway Letter: imagine Green Day + Blink 182 + All Time Low in one song and you've got this song!! It's another great song, that I want jump about to and sing along. I'm running out of things I can say this EP this amazing.
Catalog Demise: At first the guitar riffs seems heavier and I think I could be for a slightly darker song, the vocals are quite light and energetic and but guitars and drums have a more rock feel about them, Again Chasing Morgan have created a song that I shall be singing along to a lot in the future.

I love this bands original fast, energetic style it's going to be something I'll be listening to do for a long time!!!!
I'd love to see them live and when they come to the UK I'm so going :)

The whole EPs on Youtube but here's the link for Chasing Morgan's YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/user/ChasingmorganTV/videos

Sorry it's been a while but things are taking longer that I first thought! Today I've got a review for Reactions a 4 piece rock/post hardcore from America! First heard this band through Twitter.
Their song The Missing
Drums start the song soon to be followed by an epic guitar riffs to make an amazing intro. Michel's clear, strong vocals fit the song . One of my favourite things are the lyrics, the way I can understand them and sing along as I loud as I can. Another one of my favourite things about this song is the guitar rifffs There're some more screamo vocals and I'm not so sure, I couldn't understand them at all. Normally I don't mind that sort of thing but this time it didn't work for me.
It's a good song, though it's not the most original thing I've ever heard but I like to so you'll find me doing air guitar to in the near future.
I bet they'd be an amazing band to see live, full of power, energy and everyone singing along.

We're back in Scotland for the 5 piece rock band AlteredSky! I first heard this band through Facebook.
There song I Know You Know.
A brilliant guitar tiff starts the song before being joined by a drums beat that has you foot tapping before you know it and bass that's quick and strong. Already it's a great rock song that has me wanting to do air guitar I just hoped the vocals could match the awesomeness! Ana's vocals are strong, powerful and perfect fit for the song ,though lyrics are good but if you don't listen to them they go into the background. And as for originality it's got that too! This song has exactly what you need for a great rock song.
I would love to see them live as I imagine they'd be a very powerful and energy filled band. I look forward to hearing more from up north soon.

A review for my first solo artiest James Plimmer, he does covers/own songs on YouTube, first heard of him through Facebook.
His song Snow Angel,
I've said this before but I'l say it again, simple is always best. There's nothing complicated about this song, an acoustic guitar, vocals and lyrics that are about something real.
It's a soft song so I'm not tapping my foot but closing my eyes and really getting lost in the song! The lyrics are about losing someone close to you and the mistakes you make along the way and they're amazing.Vocals are soft, clear  and emotion, really brings the lyrics to life. This guys got talent not only in his singing and his guitar but in his song writing if his first song is this good I can't wait to hear what's next.
I couldn't help fall in love with this song everything about it is perfect, defiantly one of my new favourite songs.

It's been 10 days since I did this review and I still can't stop listening to this song! I love it I really do :)

I've mentioned 5 piece Heavy rock/punk/pop band Bentley Park before after seeing them live supporting Taking Hayley and now they're back with their single Darker Days.

From the first few seconds and already the guitar riffs are fantastic and get me excited about the rest of the song, when James starts singing I know this is a great song, his vocals are strong, clear and I love the way I can hear his accent. The drums fast and upbeat, same with the bass. The lyrics are probably the most original thing about this song and one of my favourite things especially:'My mind wonders how to deal with the pain.' I can't think of anything bad to say I really loved this song and look forward to seeing this band live again :) Last thing I have to say is about the video and I loved that too! Seeing clips from the gig I was at, seeing my friends and guys just having fun on tour makes for a great video.

We're in Scotland for today's review! 3 guys from Aberdeen make up the Alt/pop/rock band Daydream Frenzy. First heard this band through Twitter.
There EP Colours and Sound.
Intro/Instrumental, 3.15 of fantastic guitar riffs, fast bass lines and powerful drums. It's a great intro but maybe a little too long?
A poppy guitar riffs starts Rearrange Tomorrow it has familiarity to it but I can't pin down what it sounds like! This is the first time you get to hear Donald's vocals, his vocals are just like the guitars fantastic, clear and fit the 'sound' of the band very well. Lyrics are catchy and maybe a little repetitive. I would really like to hear this song live it would be a real high energy, high power song with everyone singing along.
Jade's Song is my favourite! The steady guitar riff, foot tapping drums and Donald's vocals slowly start the song, and within the first 20 seconds I love it. The song get's heaver and more powerful making it real rock song and diffident from the slightly more poppy Rearrange Tomorrow.
When I Say Help I swear It's True. Listening to this song for the first time I was reminded of Blink 182!! Again Daydream Frenzy have crated a great song, I can't think of anything that I obviously didn't like.

Even though this song isn't out yet I had to give it a review as I love it! 4 piece pop rockers The Hush.
And their song We Could Have Had It All.
The first time I heard it I wanted to get up and dance, it's one of those songs that's infectious. A catchy guitar riff that's full of energy and reminds me of the Scouting For Girls song Ain't Love. Drums that keep your head bobbing, bass that keeps your feet moving and vocals that have you singing as loud a you can! The lyrics telling a story of a love lost, which reminds me of Taking Hayley Here I Stand.
I really love it and will be dancing :)

I really need to do this more often but been busy!! Today's band Natives a 5 piece rock/pop band from The New Forest, I first heard this band through Twitter.
There song This Island.
I'm first reminded of All Time Low then Room 94, they're not the most original band I've ever listened to but that doesn't mean they're not good because these's guys are truly great.
My foot never stopped tapping to the beat; the guitar riffs are good and energetic; the vocals are great, I love the way they're sung, the way they're so clear so I can understand every word and I've been singing along.
I really enjoyed this song and the energy of the band as a whole,
I look forward to hearing more.

They're the amazing two welsh brothers otherwise known as Faltered! With a 3 track EP/Album teaser, these brothers have very much there own style of Alternative rock.
This is there self-tiled EP
If This Is A Joke I'm Not Laughing, first song off the EP and set to be a single with a video to be filmed soon! From the first few seconds you can tell Faltered are something different as I've not heard of a song start with a mix of rock guitars and something that sounds slightly jazzy... The jazzy part fades leaving the guitars to come out into there own, the vocals powerful and clear and with more screamo vocals which again are great and clear, I don't know alot about that style of singing but even I can tell it's good. I can't really fault  this song it has everything I ask for.
Worth The Wait,  I have reviewed this song before and I still stand by what I said, it's my favourite song of Faltered and too me has yet to be topped.
Thanks A Million, softer guitar riff and vocals makes for a more relaxing song and with a drum beat that has my foot always tapping, then at about three minutes the whole song gets a heaver touch the guitar riff faster, the vocals more powerful and the drums faster. This song has the best lyrics with the most meaning but all Faltered songs have meaningful lyrics and it's one of my favourite things about the band. The song ends with a thirty second long soft instrumental.
Another amazing EP from Faltered.
In other Faltered news the album will be coming next year!

Sorry I've not been here in the last few days but it was my dad's birthday weekend so I've spend it with him, we went to see James Bond! Best Film Ever!!!
Today it's Dive Bella Dive, a 4 piece, post pop band from London, I know their not a real unsigned band but they still deserve more recognition for there music. I first heard Dive Bella Dive when they supported McFly  with Taking Hayley in March.
Their song. School, from the first guitar riff I think rock more that pop especially with Barnaby's deep vocals,    but with the catchy lyrics that get stuck in your head. Dive Bella Dive are not your classic stuck in your head all the time poppy stuff, they have something most catchy pop doesn't amazing guitars! You can hear them all the way through never losing the riffs or heaver beat of the bass. Giving the band there own style, which at first I wasn't sure I liked but after I've had it on repeat why I've done this review it's growing on me and you'll probably hear me singing this song in the future.
As for live I only know from what I've read from other reviews and it's not been the best! But with every show you get better so by now I'm sure they'd rock you. One last thing the video is pretty fantastic.

It's Time To Fly no I'm not going anywhere its the name of today's band! A pop punk 4 piece band from Albi France! First heard the band through Twitter.
Their song Friends With Benefits. Straight away they remind of McFly cross All Time Low, poppy vocals with a punk edge and guitars just add to the feeling of wanting to get up and dance. You can hear the influences in there music McFly, All Time Low, Blink 182, they've taken little bits from each one to make there own music. Live they would be full of energy, have the whole crowd singing and jumping :)

Their song Dear Daddy.
I bloody love the guitars I've never wanted bang my head and jump around so much! The vocals and lyrics are just amazing, full of power, I will definitely be rocking out and singing to this in my bedroom so loud all the neighbours know (And I only have neighbours on one side.....)
This band live would be full of power, energy and I would love to see them :) Truly an awesome rock tune one of the best I've heard!

Say hello to A Balcony Scene a 5 piece pop/rock band in Glasgow! First heard this band through Twitter.
This is there song Riots,
It's real clean pop/rock with catchy guitar riffs and vocals you want to sing along to. I love that's it quite upbeat and something that you're always singing to or tapping your foot to its got an infections beat to it. They remind me a bit of Taking Hayley with how catchy it is, I wouldn't say they are the most original band I've hear heard but there one that I really like and will keeping at ear out for them in future :)
I couldn't tell you what they'd be like live but I bet it would be bloody full on and full of energy. The only other thing I have to say to is about the video, Warhammer really?

Today I have a review for a band I've done before well I did a live review for them and I thought I'd do another one because I wanted to talk about them a bit more. This is Birmingham 5 piece pop/punk band Falling Faster.
This is there song Alone.
I really like everything about this song, the beat that's impossible not to tap your foot to, the guitars which really get you doing air guitar, a chorus that has everyone singing along. This band have something not every band does really good lyrics about not wanting to be alone and I really good voice singing them, many bands have one or the other but Falling Faster have both plus live they're truly very good, full of energy.
This band has all the important things so I see them going far not sorry they will go far.

Hello and welcome to my first review of October! With a Lincolnshire a 5 piece rock/post-hardcore band called They Say Fall.
This is there song The Jaundice Theory, after the first few seconds of the song I'm remind of Panic at the Disco in a good way. Piano starts off the song before the guitars join followed by the vocals, the vocals strong and confordent but also heavy but not to heavy just so they fit the strong rockness of the song. The guitars are what a think of as classic rock and are bloody awesome, great drums check!
I really enjoyed the song and will be rocking out and singing along to it in the future. Even though the band reminds me of Panic I do think they've have there own style I haven't heard anything all them before.  As for seeing this band live I can image they'd be really good and being there from Lincolnshire I'll try and get along to there gigs!

Hello Everyone :)
Today I have my very first interview with the lovely guys at Silver Story (remember I reviewed there first EP 'Wake up' might need to scroll down a bit to find it if you haven't already read it)  Find out about there inspirations, there music and what they would do in a Zombie Apocalypse...

What has been your highlight of being in the band so far?

Alex: Recording our second EP ‘Wake Up’, our first EP was shit but then we recorded ‘Wake Up’ and then everyone was like, ‘’Okay maybe these guys are better than we thought!’’

Tom: Watching Alex McCabe drink Rob James' piss. I thought I was going to die from laughing!

Rob: Recording with Matt Ogrady was great, also our E.p release was pretty cool!

Gaz: Id say our EP release gig this year, massive turn out, great sound, brilliant support from fans, friends and family.

Your all time low of the band?
Tom: Pee
Alex: Haha Tom! I’m going to say playing a home town show about three years ago in front of about four people! It was embarrassing. We learned a valuable lesson that day, if you don’t tell people about gigs no one will show up!
Rob: Alex

Gaz: When a couple of members left and we didn't really do anything for nearly a year.

Personally who inspired you?
Rob: Michael Jackson, the be all and end all of why I became a musician

Alex: There’s a lot of influences for me but Dave Grohl and Kurt Kobain are the most influential for me. Bob Marley was also an early influence as my mother always used to play his cassette tapes repeatedly on car journeys.
Tom: Bradley Noel, did what he loved until the day he died, it's a shame he also did alot of what killed him...
Gaz: Tommy Lee, Travis Barker, Buddy Rich, Rick Allen.

How would you describe your music?
Tom: Best heard live.
Alex: We’ve took elements of old school pop punk, classic rock, modern pop, Grunge and Indie and created our own sound.
Rob:  Rock/pop punk/alex punk/cuntpunk

Gaz:  Musical sex!

What has been the best gig you've been to?
Alex: I’m going to be controversial and say coldplay at Manchester Etihad Stadium. Simply because of the colours, the carnival atmosphere. Not a big fan of theirs but it was definitely a surreal experience. Other than that I’d say Foo Fighters at reading was pretty amazing.
Rob: Velvet revolver in 2007! only because i met slash.

Tom: Rage Against The Machine @ Leeds Festival... just massive. OMFG it was gooooooooooood!
Gaz:  Motley Crue/Def Leppard/Steel Panther, December 2011.
Me: I'm very jealous...

Now where did the band name come from?
Gaz: Ask Alex.
Tom: We really need to come up with a good story for that don't we?
Alex: Haha. Basically the band was out drinking, before we were a band. And someone slurred ‘Silver Story’ and we couldn’t be arsed to think of a better name. Ask us again in a year and we’ll have a fantastic, gripping story for you all!

If you could have dinner with any musical legend who would it be and why?
Gaz: Probably Rick allen from Def Leppard, hes a big inspiration to me the way he plays with one arm
Tom: Freddy Mercury... I'm sure you've all heard what his dinner parties were like...? :P
Alex: Bastard I was gonna say that! Motley Crue would be a laugh!
Rob: Slash!

Favourite Disney film? (we've all got one)
Gaz: The Jungle Book, easy!
Alex: Hands down ‘The Lion King!’ Although I love Aladdin and The Jungle Book too!

Tom: HAHA! (lost my virginity to the lion king sound track!!!) It's gotta be the jungle book... I'm the king of the swingers... Well, no actually I'm not... but I would enjoy being an orangutang. So that's something at least.
Rob: Jungle book

Me: Tom... TOO MUCH INFORMATION!

Piece of technology could you not live without?

Rob: I could live without technology tbh, it annoys me!

Alex: Iphone 4s. I can’t believe I used to survive without one of these bad boys!

Tom: I am a geek in disguise... at first everyone in the band thought I was cool, through slow realization, they found I am nothing but a fashion conscious nerd! ha! My iMac is a sexy beast, it does everything I want, when I want... well... not EVERYTHING... but it is damn schweet!

Gaz: Xbox 360.

If you ruled the world what would you do?

Tom: Send Alex McCabe to an 'all you can eat' stripper buffet, send Gaz Haigh back to the 80's, and chain Rob James to a lampost somewhere in st Helens... because it would annoy him... Then live a peaceful life! ....NOT! I would reestablish morals and humane decency, rid the world of the parasite we call money and get real hippyficated... that and demand that everyone in the world greets each other with either high fives or hugs. yup. That's what I would do.
Gaz: I would get rid of X-Factor and that cunt Simon Cowell for a start.
Alex: Tom you know me so well! I’m gonna copy Tom and say abolish evil money and create a resource based economy where no one has to work and everyone is equal and lives a nice, comfortable live. Kind of like a Utopia. If anyone is wondering what the fuck I’m talking about watch Zeitgeist! I’m also gonna say destroy Simon Cowell and bring back real music into the charts!
Rob: Get rid of tory politics, allow people to walk the streets naked, everyone gets a limitless credit card.

The first album you ever brought was?
Alex: Sum 41 – Does this look infected. And some thieving fucker stole it from me. If the thief in question is reading this I have a message for him. One day I will find you, and I will beat you, fat shit!
Gaz: Well the first album i ever listened to was a rock compilation called 'The Greatest Rock Album In The World...Ever'
Tom: Tape album (yeah baby, old school) Will Smith - Big Willy Style (lol)
CD Album, Blink 182 - Enema of the state
Rob: Michael Jackson History album! on tape!

Me: All these taps is making me feel little...
The most embarrassing album?
Tom: HA! Loads of them! Tbh I have no problem with liking lame music as well as super cool music.. if you like it, you like it.. nuff said..
Alex: Spice Girls, but technically I didn’t buy it, my mother bought it and I used to play it a lot, I was very young and fancied Emma Bunton!
Rob: Busted LIVE!

Me: If it makes you feel better mine was High School Musical.

I know you're going on tour soon, what is your favourite part about touring?
Rob: Putting VILE things into google translate to keep alex up all night, and i also enjoy belly laughs, and the arguments between gaz and alex need to be filmed and sold!

Alex: A disgusting game we play called ‘Pooing.’ It’s horrible when someone gets you with it, but when it happens to Gaz Haigh and he kicks off it’s fucking hilarious!

Tom: It's gotta be the pissing your pants, my face feels like it going to fall off, lung aching, side splitting belly laughs... there's always more than a few moments.
Gaz:: The experience of going to different places and playing to different people every night.
What was the first song you wrote were you thought 'wow this is good'?
Tom: Mellow Stages - The first song I wrote actually, not being arrogant or anything, but it was about my best friend and his decline into drugs and shit that doesn't matter. I miss you Enders.
Alex: ‘The End’ which is on our second EP ‘Wake Up.’ I was only 15 at the time but I knew it was good. I think most of my songs are good though, otherwise I wouldn’t have the confidence to bring them to band practice and say ‘’Hey let’s work on this song I wrote, it’s really cool!’’
Rob: It's happened a few times, but then the more i listen to it, the more i think it sucks, so i just delete it and restart!

Gaz: Would have to be My Empire.

What is your favourite lyric you've written and why?]
Alex: The line ‘’You won’t forget the pain, because your tears will leave a stain, on you.’’ from our upcoming video single ‘My Empire.’ There is a lot of meaning for me behind those lyrics for me, but I think they’re also words that everybody can relate to.

Tom: "There is no alternative, for me" - I have my reasons. I wish I never wrote 'The STD Song' though... Fuck that backfired!

You're stuck on a island, you're allowed 1 book, 1 album and 1 person (dead, alive, fictional) Who/what do you pick?
Rob: FRONT magazine, wasting light by the foo fighters and i'd sooner be on my own cause I'd just end up eating the fucker.

Tom: The Karma Sutra... ;)
Bob Marley - The Complete Anthology, that would be daaaaaaaamn good on a desert island :D
A person that will only be named as '2211'... yes, you know who you are.
Gaz: Book: Heartbreak & Triumph (Shawn Michaels) Album: Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood, Person: Pancho from Dirty Sanchez.
Alex: Something along the lines of ‘’How to survive on a desert Island. The Colour and the shape – Foo Fighters and Moses so he could part the sea and we could get the hell off the island!

Who's you're favourite band at the moment?
Alex:  Well I have my all time favourites. But the bands I’m listening to most at the moment are Young Guns and The King Blues.
Tom: Molotov Jukebox - It's all about the folk revival!
Rob: Dave Matthews Band. (if you haven't heard of em, I'm going to destroy this interview!)

GazAt the monent, Crashdiet.

When did you first start getting into music? Has it always been a big part of your life?
Tom: My dad told me when I was 15 that I was conceived at a Dire Straits concert... after getting over the initial horror of finding out my parents had fucked I quite liked the concept... not the act.. Dad that's just gross... but the concept, yes! I've always felt the rhythm as long as I can remember, but I guess the flash point was just after starting to play the piano my parents took me to see Jools Holland... from that point I was well and truly hooked.
Alex: I’ve always loved music, I used to play violin (badly) when I was little. Then I kind of got into reggae and salsa music. Then when I turned 14 all of a sudden I started listening to Grunge and Funk then Gaz introduced me to Pop Punk bands like Blink 182 and Greenday and I decided I wanted to write songs and be in a rock band! So yeah I’d say its always played a big part in my life, without music life would be fucking shit and boring!
Rob: I started playing guitar at the age of 8! Since then I've just followed it, im still fucking poor though! But I won't give up, oh no.

Gaz: I was into music from an early age, as early as 5 years old listening to Queen, i have been brought up with it.

When it comes to writing what do you write first, music or lyrics?
Tom: Both, whatever comes in my head needs writing the fuck down, my memory is crap to say the least. I find get all of your thoughts gathered and mash it all together. But more often than not, inspiration for music comes much more erratically and will just click, at that moment immerse yourself in it and don't let go.
Alex: I agree with Tom, he does have the worst human memory I’ve ever encountered! We’re starting to write together now rather than separately but sometimes it is hard as inspiration happens really randomly, and at that point you have to stop whatever else you’re doing and start using that inspiration. I normally get a random snippet of melody, lyrics and chords in my head, then I grab an acoustic guitar, usually write the vocal melody and chord patterns simultaneously and then the lyrics come afterwards.

What would you do in a Zombie apocalypse?
Alex: Kill myself.
Rob: Kill Everything!
Tom: Dual wielding 50 cals and a thirst to kick some zombie ass! That, or go hide in a toy shop.
Me: A top shop? Ok....

Where to you want to be in ten years?
Alex: I’m a bit of a dreamer. I want to be at that level when Silver Story is an internationally known band, preferably playing world arena tours and having a great time. Anything less than that I will be slightly disappointed, but I guess I would settle for just doing what I love and making a comfortable living.
Tom: Doing what I love, music and my girl.
Rob: It would be nice to drive a fast car!
Gaz: Doing what I’m doing now, only a bit richer!

Today's band is a 4 piece Alt rock band from guess where? Birmingham! This is Franklyn. I first heard this band through Facebook.
Another Way In. Starts with a strong guitar riff before the vocals come in, gently to start but builds energy to a good chorus, you may find at first the vocals can seem a little lost in the chorus but I found the more I listened to the song the clearer I found them. Loving the guitars through out the song, maybe a little repetitive in the lyrics but not bad. Pretty good song, there was something similar about the song but I do think this band has some originality.
Take Me Down. Starts again with just a guitar riff but softer this time, as the vocals join also with a softer edge you might think its was going to be a softer song till it reachs the chorus. Strong guitar and just as strong and powerful vocals make for an epic chorus.
Alive. And this song starts with the most epic guitars so far! Energy is bleeding out of this song, vocals good again but again need to be listened to a few times to get them probably.
This band has talent and originality to back it up, I can imagine them going mad on stage, jumping around and getting the crowd involved.

When I said I'll be back on Monday I meant Tuesday.... Me and YouTube decided to have an argument yesterday. And the band of the day is The Hush a 4 piece pop/rock band from Nottingham :) I first heard this band through Twitter.
A catchy beat which would be hard not to jump about or tap your foot to; vocals are good fit the song a little bit higher than I thought they would be but good; lyrics are good not complaints except maybe a little repetitive with 'Let me know' and I learned them by about the 4th time I heard the song which is a good thing because I love being able to sing along with songs I would like to give credit to the drummer sometimes in songs the drums can get lost but not here I can always here them clearly; and of course the guitars get a good thumbs up :)
Altogether I like this band, they have talent and I think they'd be really energetic live! They also remind me of someone I can't put my finger on who but there is silt similarity about this song.

Everyone this is Back To November :) A 4 piece acoustic band from North Wales. I first heard this band through Twitter.
This is there song Falling. Its not the greatest recording in the world but definitely not the worst either. A sweet song about falling in love, I love the guitars especially in the chorus, the guitars are simple not heavy bass lines or electronic beats. The vocals are good  soft, sweet and have emotion something most chart songs are missing, the lyrics are nothing complicated but that's what makes them so good, sweet simple and perfect.
There is nothing complicated about this whole band but its that that makes them so good, sweet, simple and I love it. I don't know what this band would be like live but I can imagine the whole crowd singing along to every word.

Trophies are a 5 piece pop/punk band from Pittsburgh USA! And this there EP Room To Grow. I first heard this band through my friends.

Thee introduction is what I thought just a guitar riff and drums but then the vocals come in saying about 'This is for everyone who stood by us, and more importantly cast us aside' I can't say this made me excited about the rest of the EP but it wasn't bad.
Maurkice Bouncey (interesting name) from the first few seconds of this song its clear the guitar isn't amazing, its a bit muffled but once the vocals start it nearly over powers them. The vocals and lyrics are good with a small amount of sceamo in the background but I don't think that everything fits together that well.
Edgewood Acres. Again guitars not start great but seem to get better but goes again. The vocals seem to have a touch of Room 94 to them, again I think the vocals are good but the guitar is letting it down.
Room To Grow is diffident and its definitely the best song on the EP, the guitar are good and fit the song, the vocals are as awesome as ever and for the first time I can really hear the drums. The small amount of screamo is back and I like it. Best song on the Ep and one I'll be listening to a fair few times.
What You Want To Be. Interesting lyrics but I like it, something a bit diffident. Good song maybe this EP is turning out to be better than the first few songs. The guitar solo is awesome and I was even singing along!
Keep Your Hands To Yourself are straight away I think of Room 94, the vocals are on a similar line to some of 94s stuff expect the sreamo. Again a good song but I'm overly excited by this band I think they need a little something.
Not a bad band with some pretty good stuff but they need something.

Today we have a band a mentioned in my last post, this is We Start Partys :) A 3 piece dance/pop/rock band from Bristol. I first heard this band through my friends.
I know its not been a great weather lately and we've all been feeling a it miserable but this song will get us all back in the party mood because this is Down Like That! A fun bubbly song which is a poppy song have a dance edge. I think its a bit electronic because I can't find the guitar riff that well but the vocals are good. clear and great to sing along to. I don't quite know what this band would be like live because this is a song you'd hear at a beach party I don't know about at something like Reading.
Anyways good band great party track.

Today I have something I want to say. This is a post about how one of my good friends had been helped by the unsigned world.

My friend has been suffering from depression for a few years and in her own words "If I didn't have these bands in my life I wouldn't have been able to fight through everything, I would have just given up at the start, these bands literally saved my life" Bands such as Halfway To Hollywood, Neon Sarcastic, Room 94, That Sunday Feeling, Strangle Kojak, We Start Partys, Burn So Bright, Hill Valley High, Hollywood, My Extraordinary, Page 44, Tonight We're Electric and Taking Hayley! Have and still are helping my friend through some of the hardest times of her life. They've helped her through their music, that's meaningful, full of life and will always make you smile; they've helped her by always being there when she needed someone to talk to, someone to lean on and someone to give her a hug; they've boosted her confidence, helped her make friends (I started talking her through Taking Hayley) and really made a HUGE impact on her life.

I don't being hateful of any signed artist (I do love some) but who would do that for one girl? I'm not talking about every artist because there're exceptions to every rule. But most chart artist (I'm not going to point fingers) wouldn't be able to do such a life changing thing to one fan. And chart music meaningful? No if you want to know about sex and having a party yeah chart music is great if you want deeper and to feel like you're not alone and someone is always there unsigned music is there.

Everyone welcome Times Like These :) A 5 piece Alt/Rock/Hardcore band from Hemel Hempstead. I first heard this band through Twitter.
Getting Closer. I won't lie I don't know well anything about screamo stuff I don't mind it and will listen to it (you won't find Oli Sykes on my iPod) I don't really know how to comment it sounds good to me I understand what he's saying but I can't say you'll catch me singing along. But god I love the guitars in this song, I hear a lot of bands and I lot of guitars but these band has got something and the drums are also something to noticed . I don't know if I'd see this band live they'd do a good job but I'm not sure it's something I would be in to.
Have a listen and them me your comments because I'm not sure I've done a great job here! Out of my knowledge.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWD6mbqwhMs&feature=player_embedded#!

Say hello to.... Halfway To Hollywood :) A 3 piece pop/rock/powerpop band from Vancouver :O
I first heard this band under an hour ago when my friend Abbii was listening to them and told me too.

Speechless, (I wasn't speechless its the name of the song even though I was surprised) I good a guitar riff and clear vocals two things I look for a good song and I've defiantly got both here. I was surprised when I first heard them I was excepting the same soft of thing from a pop/rock band but with the bands touch of electronic beat it brings a originality to the music. I'd see this band live (if they get there bums over to this side of the pound) I can imagine they'd be full of fun and energy.

Everyone this is The Dead Famous :) A 4 piece rock/pop/indie band from London. I first heard of this band through Twitter.
This is the bands first single Hide Your Halo. I have to admit that the first six second remind me of something out of my dads record collection (not in a bad way) I was thinking Bon Jovi! A air guitar song if ever I heard one, strong rock beat, there's energy but not so it makes me want to jump around but I can imagine how powerful it would be live. I love the vocals and lyrics, strong no chance of being misheard and the last lyrics of the song are just awesome! I don't understand the video and the green screen is not great but not terrible.
The Dead Famous are a really awesome band who I see going fair.

And the headlining act Taking Hayley :D 4 piece pop/rock band from Birmingham.
Wow these's guys are just fantastic live; fun, lively, full of energy. The songs are amazing record but live I can't think of a word!! They're a real pop/rock band full of real bass, guitar, drums and vocals. The set starts off with the intro from the album The Big Blind.
Better Luck Next Time. A fun lively song with great vocals, the crowd go mad as good as the first cords of the song are played as we all know what's coming. Al gets the whole crowd singing even giving us a whole line to ourselves.
Up All Night. If people weren't joining in before they sure are now! With up all night's catchy vocals and awesome guitar riffs its impossible not to jump around and sing.
Tonight. A sweet song about being alone and wishing someone was at your side. This is the first time you get to hear guitarist Levi's backing vocals and he has a voice full of passion.
Butterflies is a song all about falling in love and full of emotion. Alistair kept eye contact with the crowd through out (after talking to Al he said through out singing Butterflies he was thinking of his girlfriend)
Here I Stand. A change from the emotion of Butterflies with a song full of energy that had everyone going a bit crazy.
Crying Eyes. There was not a dry eye in the house after this song, this is an old song that the band have remastered for the album turning it from a real rock song to a piano ballad. With only Alistair and his keyboard on stage his vocals are totally on their own, to end the song the rest of the band join Alistair on stage for a full on rock ending to a beautiful song.
Earthquake (Labrinth cover) Alistair loses his guitar for this song so he jumps around like a loon!! This was originally a electronic song full of commuters but not Taking Hayleys cover which replaces the electronic sound with guitars, bass and drums we even get Alistair rapping!
Circles. The bast first single and one were the drums really come in to there own. A great high energy song to end the night with, everyone was singing (even the people stood at the back) Circles is such an infections song you can't help jumping and singing.
I also had the chance to meet the guys and they're just lovely. I will defiantly be seeing this band again (I'd go now if I could) and you should too, they're just as amazing and more that I said. I know some of you might be thinking I'm being paid to say this I'm not its just me and what I really think, and I don't say these things about everybody.

Next one is The Ocean's Eyes are a 5 piece alt/pop punk/rock band from London. These were my favourite support band, fun, lively and full of energy. The crowd loved them and I thought they were pretty good too, Luke the lead singer really went all out jumping off stage and dancing with the crowd and dancing, singing and messing about with Jay (drummer for Taking Hayley) they even ended up on the floor at one point (Luke was still singing) Thought this band were good and fun, I'd defiantly like to see them again, anyone who loves a lively band pop-punk band should see these guys because you'd be stupid not too.

Bentley Park are a 5 piece heavy rock/punk/pop band formed in North Yorkshire that are now in Manchester :)  These guys were pretty good got the crowd going and me singing to there cover of Call Me Maybe. I enjoyed them they did really well; bass, drums, guitar and vocals all sounding pretty good. They were my sisters favourite and I'm not surprised they did an awesome job. I would see this band again and I hope to see there too.

Deny The Lie are up next :) Are a 5 piece rock/punk/post-hardcore band from Nottingham. These's guys were alright, if someone said punk this is what kind of thing I would think of. Guitar, bass and drums were not bad had my foot tapping and fingers drumming. The vocals were okay a little hard to hear most of the time but the crowd seem to enjoy these guys more but I wasn't quite sold. I might see this band again but I'm not sure, if you're a punk person you should give them a listen.

Next were Grey Goes Down :)  4 piece post-grunge alt-punk from Nottingham. This band is hard to review because I've never really heard this kind of music before. I didn't think it was that great and nor did the rest of the crowd. Its probably not a kind a style of music I'll get into that much. Drums, guitar and bass were all quite clear though I wasn't tapping my foot to it or anything and I do that to most songs; the vocals weren't clear or that great. They're not a band I would see again but if you're into that kind of music check them out and see what you think.

Right a few gig reviews to do so lets get down to it :) First the opening act Nothing Personal, a 4 piece pop-punk band from Birmingham. I knew this band before seeing them and knew I few words to there songs.
Okay I did miss the first few songs on the setlist as I was hanging out with Taking Hayley but what I heard of NP was really good. There punk side really comes out when they play live, they have some heavier songs like 42 and some more pop things like there awesome cover of Call Me Maybe. Crowd enjoyed them but didn't go 'crazy' Altogether this band is pretty dam awesome live and a band not to be missed, I'll be going to see them on tour again :)

Today's band is the lovely Fletcher!! and there single Dream In The First Place. They're a alternative rock/pop band from London. I first heard this trough Twitter.
My first thought when I started listening to this song has 'wow this is different.' It's a quite a soft song with soft relaxing vocals and a great guitar riff. It's not quite like anything I've heard, something you could have on repeat for hours and never have enough. As I said different but good with a doubt its amazing. This is a band who show real talent and one I know will go fair. I don't what they'd be like live but judging by this song you would not be disappointed.
To sum this band up they're something new worth checking out.

Today we have a music review for Sliver Story :) SS are a 4 piece rock/pop-punk/punk band from Warrington. I first heard this band when I got a message from them on FaceBook.

From the first few seconds of there song Dancefloor I was tapping my foot and nodding my head, I love the guitars in this song they're just the perfect example of rock. And the lyrics are not ones I would really sing along to but ones I would rock out too. Why I was listening to the intro of this song I was wondering what the vocals would sound like and if they'd fit this rock/punk sound and they do, they're a perfect match to each other. This song is what I think of when someone says 'ROCK'
The Otherside starts with a amazing drum solo before the guitars come in. I can imagine seeing this band live and the whole crowd going mad I could see this band playing at Reading!
The End starts softer and reminds me of Blink 182. This is probably my favourite song, softer, relaxed and once I've leaned the words (give me an hour) I'll be singing along at the top of my voice.
Frantic is more pop and fast. I don't think vocals fit as well as they have done in the other songs, I'm not sure about this song it just isn't as awesome as the rest.
My Empire is slow to start with but gets quicker. I found this song harder to describe I don't hate it but its not blown me away either, it is growing on me, I think it would a great song live but the record version doesn't do it for me.

Altogether this band are full of rock and air guitar, they have a style that is different but still a the same as you can hear the bands influences going trough into there music (this is not a bad thing) I really enjoyed listening to them and would really love to see them live if they came near Lincolnshire (if I was so lucky)

An EP today!! Faltered are two bothers doing alternative/rock  from North Wales.
The first song is This Is Only The Beginning. Its starts soft and relaxing, before a bit of an electronic beat comes in. There are no vocals in this song its just an intro but makes me excited about what's to come.
Please Don't Take This The Wrong Way. Starts soft and builds up in a real air guitar beat, the vocals are deep and strong, the lyrics are meaning full and very original.
Worth The Wait is my favourite song on the EP. Strong, full of power and energy. Even so far this band is not one I would listen to normally I'm very glad I did as I love this song.
High Rule. Has a touch of sort of screamo to start but goes back into the bands more original style. I did enjoy this song but also the lyrics could be hard to hear and I find that annoying when I can't sing along with songs.
Counterparts. Has a nice beat and one I keep tapping my feet to, the vocals are relaxing but power full, I've listen to a lot of music but no one has quite got this bands power in there music.
Spaces Wasted. Is a great song but a short one, I love the vocals and guitar in this song.

All together this band have made a original , strong and power full EP. Not to be mean to Faltered but I wasn't expecting this amount of power and I loved it. They wouldn't have been something I would listen to but being a unsigned music lover I thought why not and I was very impressed with what I've heard.
